DraftKings Sportsbook allows you to bet on point spreads, money lines, totals, and futures.
If you're new to sports betting these terms might not make a lot of sense so let's break each one down:
Point spreads are the most common bets, where you're betting on whether one team will beat another by a specific margin.
Bets are placed on whether the favorite will exceed the margin, or the underdog will lose by less than the margin. If the underdog is beat by less than the margin or if they win outright, it is known as "covering the spread".
Money lines can be a bit confusing at first glance. A positive and negative numbers is assigned to each team which determine the payout for the bet.
The underdog is listed with a positive number and the number is the amount paid on a $100 bet. So a winning bet on a team listed at +187 would be worth $187 for every $100 bet.
The team with the negative number is the favorite and the number is the amount you must pay to win $100. So, if a team is listed at -135, a winning bettor would receive $100 for every $135 bet.
Totals use the over/under statistic. Sportsbook will estimate the total number of runs, points, touchdowns, etc that both teams will score in a given contest. You then bet on if you believe the actual total will be higher or lower than the estimate.
Futures bets, like the name describes, looks at the outcome for an entire season rather than a single game or match. For example, who will win the Superbowl, World Series or Stanley Cup would all be considered future bets.
Of course! Sports betting is a great way to stay interested in the action and with DraftKings In-Play betting, you'll never be bored watching a game again.
Bettors can wager on each pitch in a baseball game, a single period of a hockey game or the result of every play in a given football drive.
